The handmade aluminum alloy blade features a long Hi (blood groove) and a visible Hamon (tempered line) for authentic style, while maintaining an unsharpened edge ideal for practice. The full tang construction, secured with two wooden mekugi pegs and engraved with the swordsmith’s signature, ensures durability and balance. Its Tsuka (handle) is made of wood, covered in genuine rayskin, and wrapped in black cotton Ito with Menuki ornaments for a comfortable, traditional grip. The Musashi-style Tsuba adds a timeless touch, complemented by a black piano-lacquered wooden Saya wrapped with a matching black cotton Sageo. Measuring 41" overall with Saya, this katana has a 28" blade, an 11" handle, and weighs 1.95 lbs with Saya (1.35 lbs without). Package weight: 5 lbs.
